The Department of Homeland Security hosted its 4th Annual Industry Day on November 17, 2010, at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center in Washington, D.C. The event ran from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with early sign-in beginning at 7:00 a.m. This one-day forum aimed to provide federal contractors, including small businesses and those representing disadvantaged groups such as 8(a), HUBZone, Service Disabled Veteran, and Women-Owned Small Businesses, with detailed acquisition planning information across DHS components. Panels were moderated by individual DHS Heads of Contracting Activity, offering targeted insights to help industry participants understand and prepare for upcoming contracting opportunities, thereby enhancing competition and collaboration. Attendance was limited to two representatives per company, and registration was required through the designated DHS Industry Day website. For those unable to attend in person, the event was webcast live without requiring registration, ensuring widespread access to the shared information. The Department of Homeland Security’s Contract Administration Services Division organized the event, with Bob Jeffers serving as a primary point of contact for inquiries. The initiative reflects DHS’s commitment to transparent communication with industry partners and promotes opportunities for diverse business participation in federal contracting.
