Full Description

The County of Lambton invites the submission of a Proposal to receive a capital contribution from the Affordable Housing Reserve to create safe, adequate and affordable rental housing. The Proponent must secure funding from other sources to provide on-going support services to households residing in the affordable units. Support services can be provided directly by the proponent or through an agreement with an outside agency. The County will review all responses received and will determine a short list of "Preferred responses" that it wishes to investigate further. Short listed proponents may be invited to a proponent meeting where they will be provided an opportunity to further elaborate on their proposal and why the County should consider recommending it for funding. After a review of submissions received the County may request more details prior to finalizing its short list.Once the County is satisfied the project has merit, will meet the needs of the community and is viable, County Council approval will be sought. Once a project has been selected and approved for a capital contribution from the Affordable Housing reserve, it will receive a Conditional Letter of Commitment (CLC) from the County of Lambton. The CLC confirms the County’s approval of the project and outlines the steps that must be taken prior to the respondent and the County entering into a Contribution Agreement (CA).
