The Defense Health Agency (DHA) hosted a Small Business Forum on November 9, 2015, at their Defense Health Headquarters in Falls Church, Virginia. The event was designed to provide small business vendors with insights into DHA’s strategic sourcing initiatives, contracting processes, and potential upcoming procurement opportunities. Limited to 50 attendees and two participants per firm, the forum required registration by October 30, 2015, with no attendance fee. Participants were encouraged to bring a one-page capability statement or business card to facilitate networking. Due to limited parking, the agency arranged shuttle services from nearby metro stations, requiring vehicle information for permit issuance. Modifications to the original contract clarified the point of contact and confirmed the closure of registration for the November 9 and December 7 forums, preventing additional registrants. The primary contacts for the event were Dara Nodell, Executive Assistant, and Patti Carter, Procurement Analyst. Registrants were also encouraged to complete and submit a vendor profile form to increase their engagement with DHA’s small business programs. Overall, the forum aimed to foster collaboration and provide business development opportunities for small companies interested in contracting with the Department of Defense through the DHA.
