DIGITAL VIDEO COMPUTER SYSTEM

The John D Dingell Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center intends to negotiate a sole source procurement for the following: 9200B Digital Video Computer System with all hardware and software for recording examinations and interfacing to camera, light source and printer. Features: Computer (Pentium 4 w/1.5 CHertz, 2x40 Gbyte IDE hard disk and 1x36 Gbyte SCSI hard disk, 512 MB RAM, with windows 2000 operating systems; DVD+RW archiving system 4.7GB per cartridges; 19" super VGA monitor; Professional-level (RGB component recording) video capture board, Hardware and software for computer control of camera white balance setting; Software for patients and examination database management, and image capture, processing and playback; Capability to display EGG waiver form (if an electroglottograph is owned). 9203 Case 20 of DVD + RW medial, each disk stores 40GB formatted. 9198 Factory authorized person will set up the system and provide 1/2 day of training. 9264C Color ink-jet printer capable of printing on a variety of paper types and sizes including photographic 4"x6"and plan 8.5"x11" papers. 9212 Three-chip CCD camera, 700 lines of resolution. This camera is controllable by the 9200B computer. 9271 Cart for Digital Strobe. Justification for this sole source procurement is in accordance with FAR 6.302-l(a)(2)(ii)(A) and (B), only one responsible source. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation documents will be issued. Firms that believe they can meet the VA=92s requirements must submit proof to the Contracting Officer no later than March 3, 2003 at 2:00P.M. Local time. All information shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
