Disposal of Ammunition

The contractor is tasked with the comprehensive demilitarization and disposal of U.S. Department of Defense stock-listed conventional munitions at Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho, in full compliance with federal and state regulations. Operations include palletizing, marking, labeling, transporting, and destroying munitions using industry-standard methods such as thermal treatment or detonation, with ownership of components transferring to the contractor upon successful demilitarization. All activities must adhere to strict standards including MIL-STD-129R for labeling, DoD Manual 4000.25 for inventory control, and DoD Instruction 4145.26 for safety and handling. Barcoding and DoD Identification Codes are required for full traceability, and packaging must meet all physical and environmental safeguards outlined in applicable DoD directives. The contract is structured as a five-year, multiple-award Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with a firm-fixed-price ordering structure, covering four additional ordering periods following the base year beginning June 2026, with individual task orders limited to a maximum of $1.3 million each and a minimum of $300 per order.
