The Department of Navy awarded a contract to Northrop Grumman Systems Corporation for the repair of repairables regarding AN/AAQ-24(V)25 components as part of the Large Aircraft InfraRed Countermeasure system. Managed by the Naval Air Systems Command, this effort provides essential engineering, logistics, and technical support for CH-46, CH-53, and MV-22 aircraft. The work is performed in Rolling Meadows, Illinois, under NAICS code 334511. This award was executed as a sole-source procurement under a Basic Ordering Agreement with an estimated value of 40,000,000 dollars. The justification for bypassing full and open competition was based on the contractor's proprietary rights and a lack of sufficient technical data available to other vendors. The contract was finalized in February 2011.
