The vertical tail of a USN E-6B was damaged during a ground mishap in 2019 in which the aircraft was towed into a hangar, causing the vertical tail to be pulled from the fuselage. Aircraft repairs have been implemented. However, due to the age of the aircraft, a number of material substitutions have been made to rebuild the empennage and tail of this aircraft. Verification of the aircraft structural dynamic response is desired to assess any effects of the material substitutions on the repair. A GVT to obtain the structural dynamic characteristics is to be performed, with the results then compared to previous GVT results collected during a 2014'2015 GVT. The primary focus of the GVT assessment will be the empennage.
