The Idaho Military Division has submitted a request for an exemption from the competitive procurement process to purchase food and snacks, with the goal of streamlining procurement and potentially avoiding the need for a formal bidding process. The decision to grant this exemption lies solely with the DOP Administrator, who has the discretion to approve or deny the request. To promote transparency, the department is inviting suppliers to review the exemption request and submit relevant information that could support or challenge the claim that competition would be impractical, unreasonable, or disadvantageous for the state. The contract, titled "EFC - FOOD, SNACKS for IDYCA," is a solicitation issued by the State of Idaho, with a value estimated between $50,000 and $150,000.
