Mariposa County plans to develop a transit yard on a 1.54-acre site east of State Route 49, featuring a solar canopy and electric vehicle charging infrastructure to support zero-emission vehicle operations. The solar canopy, elevated approximately 14 feet above ground, will cover paved areas to provide shelter for vehicles while maintaining access and operational space beneath. Photovoltaic panels mounted on the canopy will generate electricity, which will be stored in on-site batteries and used to power EV charging stations and other facility needs, with design flexibility to accommodate future expansion of the zero-emission fleet. The project includes essential electrical systems such as conduits and connections to route solar-generated power efficiently, ensuring reliable energy delivery for daily operations. In addition to the solar and charging components, the project will introduce a new driveway connecting to Frank Wilson Road and install storm drain facilities to manage runoff and meet environmental standards.
