ELECTRICAL CONTRACTING SERVICES FOR MUNICIPAL FACILITIES AND PROPERTIES-MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

The Town of Aurora is seeking qualified and licensed electrical contractors to establish a pool of up to three providers for a five-year term starting November 1, 2026, and ending October 31, 2031. The contract covers as-needed maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical systems, as well as visual and infrared scanning inspections and emergency diagnosis for various municipal facilities. Primary service locations include Town Hall, the Aurora Community Centre, and the Aurora Family Leisure Complex, with additional secondary locations serviced upon request. This procurement is specifically for maintenance and repair and does not include construction or capital infrastructure projects. Bidders must be licensed electrical contractors in Ontario and provide a service team featuring at least two senior staff members with ten years of experience. Mandatory certifications include ESA Master Electrician, 309A Journeyperson Electrician, and Level II Thermography for infrared technicians. The evaluation process consists of three stages, focusing on mandatory compliance, price, and qualifications. Successful contractors must maintain minimum liability insurance of 2 million CAD for both general and automobile liability and adhere to the Occupational Health and Safety Act. Electronic submissions are required via the Town's bidding portal by October 6, 2026. The contract utilizes a unit price and mark-up structure for materials, with payments made via electronic funds transfer within thirty days of invoice receipt. Contractors are expected to respond to non-emergency estimate requests within two business days and remain available for emergency call-outs 365 days per year.
