The Hardee County Board of County Commissioners is seeking responses from licensed and authorized employee medical self-funded pools operating in Florida to provide health insurance options for its employees and retirees. The county is interested in exploring how a self-funded pool could best meet the needs of its workforce and retirees, with the goal of obtaining the best value through negotiations. This process involves comparing proposals from self-funded pools against the current fully-insured health insurance program, which is managed by Acentria Public Risk, the existing Agent of Record. The solicitation aims to identify suitable providers that can offer flexible and cost-effective health coverage solutions, with contract values estimated between $500,000 and $5,000,000. The solicitation, titled "Employee Medical Self-Funded Pools," was posted on March 31, 2025, with responses due by April 25, 2025. The initiative is part of the county’s effort to evaluate alternative health insurance arrangements that could potentially enhance coverage options or reduce costs for its employees and retirees. Interested parties can find more details and submit responses through the designated online platform. The county’s approach emphasizes careful comparison and negotiation to ensure the best possible health insurance solutions tailored to its organizational needs.

The Hardee County Board of County Commissioners (the “BOCC”) is inviting Responses from employee medical self-funded pools (not fully-insured programs at this time), who are licensed and authorized to operate in the State of Florida to provide health insurance offerings by such pools, for the BOCC’s employees and retirees. The BOCC desires to explore the questions set forth in this ITN to determine how a self-funded pool can best serve the BOCC and its employees and retirees. The BOCC has determined that negotiations are necessary for it to receive the best value from a self-funded pool and will compare the results of this ITN with the renewal of the fully-insured program currently in place. Acentria Public Risk is the current Agent of Record/Contract Effectuator for the BOCC. (See bid docs for more information)
