The proposed contract is for the provision of forest road maintenance, small scale road construction, deactivation, bridge installation/removal, and associated infrastructure works within the BC Timber Sales Strait of Georgia Business Area. The majority of work is anticipated within the Campbell River Operating Area, with a component in the Port Alberni Operating Area. The contract is a general works agreement intended to support safe and continuous access on Forest Service Roads through routine maintenance, road reactivation, emergency response, and structural repairs as directed by the Ministry Representative.Work activities may include, but are not limited to, road surface and subgrade repairs, grading, drainage improvements, ditch cleaning, culvert installation and maintenance, erosion and sediment control, brushing, signage installation and replacement, snow plowing, danger tree falling, removal of slough or slide material from the road prism, and deactivation activities. The contract also includes bridge-related works such as bridge installations and removals, bridge deck and guardrail repairs, and associated approach and scour protection works, all completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.Bridge installation work under this contract may involve the coordination and pickup of Ministry-supplied bridge materials, delivery to site, and full assembly and installation of bridge structures including abutments, superstructure components, hardware, decks, riprap, and approaches. Contractors will be responsible for providing remaining materials, construction equipment, labour, access, and environmental protection measures to ensure bridge works are completed safely and in compliance with fisheries, environmental, and engineering requirements.Contract deliverables will be assigned throughout the contract term based on maintenance priorities, inspection findings, and seasonal or emergency requirements.
