The contract involves the reactivation and construction work on the Kitnayakwa Forest Service Road (FSR), specifically the first 1.8 kilometers which requires light brushing prior to construction commencement. The scope includes subgrade preparation, installation of two culverts, and surfacing over a 280-meter section from the start of construction. This work is essential to facilitate the installation of a supplied 18-meter bridge, with no further construction planned beyond this 280-meter mark. Surfacing material is expected to be sourced from road fill, but if additional surfacing is needed, the contract will be amended to include pit run material from a designated existing pit located at the junction of Br. 19 and Kitnayakwa FSR. Bidders are instructed to base their bids on surfacing using road cut material. All questions related to the contract must be submitted in writing by 11:00 am on April 14, 2026, and responses will be made available by April 16, 2026. Tender submissions must comply with the specified terms and conditions within the tender package, noting that certain forms of bid deposit are not eligible for electronic bidding. The contract emphasizes that the lowest bid may not necessarily be accepted, and results will be posted on BC Bid following the tender opening and contract award. Additional contracting advisories and guidance can be accessed through a specified government website. The solicitation was posted on March 26, 2026, with a submission deadline of April 28, 2026, and is managed by the Skeena Business Area of BC Timber Sales under the Government of Canada.
