This procurement action is being conducted under 6.302-1 with the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253 (c), as only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the requirement; therefore proposals cannot be submitted directly on this notice. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission intends to award a sole-source firm fixed price purchase order to Guidance Software, Inc., 215 N Marengo Ave. STE 250, Pasadena, CA 91101-1569 for the renewal of EnCase Enterprise software maintenance renewals. Due to the proprietary nature of the software, there are no known qualified vendors that have the necessary certifications/capabilities to perform the required services. The period of performance is September 14, 2009 through September 13, 2010. This is not a solicitation, but a Notice of Intent. No solicitation will be issued for this sole source requirement, and no other information will be provided.
