AI Contract Overview

The U.S. Coast Guard Engineering Logistics Center is seeking specialized engineering services to perform model tests for the FRC-B cutters. These tests are necessary to validate predictions regarding hydrodynamic loading and hydro-elastic response using VERES-LES and WASIM-2DBEM software. The project falls under solicitation HSCG40-09-Q-611006 and is managed by the Department of Homeland Security through the Sflc Procurement Branch 3. Due to the specialized nature of the required loads prediction techniques and the lack of other qualified candidates from previous sourcing efforts, the government intends to award a non-competitive sole source contract to Marintek. Det Norske Veritas (DNV). As the original equipment manufacturer and developer of the WASIM and 2DBEM programs, Marintek/DNV is identified as the only entity capable of providing these specific services in accordance with the established Statement of Work.
