The New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute plans to extend an existing contract for Epidemiologic and Program Evaluation Assistance for an additional twelve months, from October 1, 2024, through September 30, 2025, without increasing the current funding levels. This extension is intended to maintain essential epidemiologic and research support while a new competitive procurement process is underway, which has been delayed, necessitating the extension to prevent service gaps. The contract will continue to fund staff who provide epidemiologic analysis, data investigation, and program evaluation under the supervision of designated personnel, supporting initiatives across all New York State counties. The contract is being extended through a sole-source award to Island Peer Review Organization, Inc., due to its status as the designated single source. The original contract period runs from October 1, 2019, to September 30, 2025, with the extension ensuring continuity of services during the procurement process. The contract's value ranges from approximately $500,000 to $1.5 million, and inquiries regarding this exemption or procurement should be directed to Ilene Kane, the Health Program Administrator. The contract aims to sustain epidemiologic efforts critical to the AIDS Institute’s public health initiatives across New York State.
