Full Description

Contracting Center of Excellence, Army Contracting Agency, in support of the United States Army, Office of the Chief of Chaplains is planning to award a Sole Source Contract to the University of Akron, Office of Research Services.?? The purpose of th is will be for the University of Akron to provide research and analysis services to the Office of the Chief of Chaplains regarding marital stressors of female U.S. Army Personnel. The period of performance for this requirement is for 10 months.? The effor t is not expected to exceed $80,000.00. The contractors expertise and functional knowledge in this particular area of study and the Armys urgent need for this information is the justification for soliciting only one source. This task encompasses the f ollowing four tasks: (1) Conducting literature review to include trends in military marriage, predictors of marital dissolution and success in the military population, benefits to healthy marriages and families for the military, and the extent of specific female service member experiences (2) Exploring the stressors impacting female soldiers marriage to male civilians or soldiers using self-report surveys and focus groups (3) Preparing an action plan with proposed initiatives to increase the rate of marri age success for female soldier marriages (4) Providing a final report to the office of the Chief of Chaplains for dissemination throughout the Army, Also, copies of and published journal articles will be delivered to the Office of the Chief of Chaplains a s they are produced.
