The Government plans to award a non-competitive contract extension to Marcoa Publishing, Inc. under contract number N00604-11-P-3132 for a period of five months, continuing through June 30, 2011. This short-term bridge contract is necessary because only Marcoa Publishing can provide the required publication, a guide designed to assist new military personnel and their families arriving in Hawaii with important military and local resource information. Due to the six-month lead time required to create a new edition of this Commercial Enterprise Publication, the extension ensures uninterrupted support for the US Pacific Command Public Affairs Office in Pearl Harbor until a competitive follow-on contract can be established. The Government estimates no cost for this extension and intends to competitively award the subsequent contract no later than June 30, 2011, in time for the next publication scheduled for December 31, 2011. This action complies with the Federal Acquisition Regulation clause allowing sole-source procurement when only one responsible source exists. Interested parties are informed that this notice is not a request for proposals or quotes, and all inquiries must be directed to the Contracting Officer, Cindy Nakayama. The contract is managed by the Department of Defense’s Navsup Fleet Logistics Center in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii.
