The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to award a sole source contract to Raytheon Company for the procurement of eleven Antenna Trunnion Kits, part number C3435659-1, with an estimated value of 175,000 dollars. These kits are essential for the assembly and fabrication of the APG-79 AESA Antenna used in F/A-18E/F and EA-18G aircraft variants. The procurement is being conducted under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (c) (1) and FAR 6.302-1, as Raytheon Company is the original designer, developer, manufacturer, and prime integrator of the radar system. Because Raytheon Company holds the proprietary technical data package and the government does not possess the necessary drawings to allow for competitive bidding, they are identified as the only source with the requisite expertise and data to fulfill the requirement. This action is categorized under NAICS code 334511. While the government may consider responses from other responsible sources to determine if a competitive procurement is feasible, the final determination remains at the discretion of the government. The point of contact for this requirement is Contract Specialist Desiree Pendleton.
