COMMERCIAL ITEM. AG-0261-S-07-0045.SOLICITATION WILL BE POSTED AT A LATER DATE, COMPLETE SCOPE AND SPECIFICATIONS OF THIS PROJECT WILL BE IN THE SOLICITATION. The Forest Service is in need of precommercial tree thinning and stand improvement activities to reduce the tree density and, by the deliberate selection of leave trees, improve the overall health and condition of the stand based on the prescribed objectives. Tree selection and cutting or girdling of undesirable or excess trees will provide space for the leave trees to grow and develop, reduce the incidence of insect and diseases that affect growth, and undesirable tree qualities. Tree thinning and associated slash treatment work is also to reduce hazardous fuels and uncharacteristic fire behavior on National Forest Lands adjacent to private lands and residences. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, supplies (except those designated as Government furnished), and incidentals to perform all work necessary on the areas specified. All aspects of the work program shall be performed in an organized, systematic manner to assure services will be performed over the entire unit. PROJECT LOCATION: Boise National Forest, Idaho City Ranger District. The Solicitation will contain the general locations of the contract units, which will be shown on the vicinity map.
