The US Fish and Wildlife Service plans to award a contract to Northwest Marine Technology for the purchase of two T-13 Tunnel Detectors, each priced at $60,000, contingent upon the availability of funds. These detectors will be installed at the Spring Creek and Little White Salmon National Fish Hatcheries to monitor adult salmon during the spawning process. Each detector measures 6 feet in length, 2 feet in width, and 2 feet in height. Northwest Marine Technology has a solid track record of providing innovative and reliable equipment that meets the agency’s requirements and supports ongoing fisheries management programs. This procurement aligns with Congressional legislation implemented since Fiscal Year 2004, which mandates the mass marking of hatchery fish destined for harvest. The T-13 Tunnel Detectors are compatible with previously acquired equipment and can be maintained by Northwest Marine Technology, ensuring seamless integration and serviceability. The Fisheries Program, Region 1, oversees this effort within the Department of the Interior’s Fish and Wildlife Service headquarters based in Falls Church, VA. Interested parties may direct inquiries to Kristin Young, with questions accepted through August 13, 2005.
