Full Description

The Mendocino National Forest requires tree planting and release on approximately 240 acres of National Forest Land. The sites are dispersed on the forest and are located in Glenn and Mendocino Counties, California. The project consists of three items. Item 1 is auger tree planting on approximately 165 acres with a majority of the work in a previous burn area with grown vegetation that will need to be treated prior to planting. Item 2 is a hand tree plant by hoedad in a cluster planting configuration on approximately 77 acres. Item 3 is a manual release of the area planted in Item 2; this treatment requires the severing and removal of all above ground vegetative material (live and dead) within a 5-foot radius of each leave tree. A prebid tour may be scheduled, please see the solicitation for information on date and time. Because seedling survival and growth is dependent on proper soil and weather conditions and the conditions will only prevail for a short time it is suggested contractors interested in the project visit the project sites when weather conditions for access are favorable. For a map to the location please contact the Contracting Officer at +1 (555) 000-0000 and directions and a map will be faxed. The Contractor shall furnish all labor, equipment, supervision, operating supplies, tools and transportation necessary to perform the work in accordance with the specifications and provisions of the contract. Migrant and Seasonal Agricultural Worker Protection Act registration is required. The planting is dependent on weather conditions and is expected to be performed between late March to mid-May. Work on the release portion will occur approximately one month after the planting. Funds are not presently available for this contract; however, the government anticipates that funding will be available in time to award this contract. This procurement is solicited under Simplified Acquisition Procedures, total small business set-aside. Estimated issue date of the solicitation is on or about February 20 with an estimated due date of March 16. Solicitation documents will be posted on this website. All responsible sources that submit a timely quote will be considered.
