The objective of the contract is to remove from the marine environment and deconstruct the vessels while properly disposing of hazardous materials/pollutants. As a result, the hazardous conditions created by these Vessels will be eliminated.The “F/V Pied Piper” (“Vessel”) is an approximately 31 foot trawler that is currently sitting low at bow at Daajing Giids Marina, Daajing Giids, BC). The approximate location of the vessel is 53 15.150’ N 132 4.367’ W.The “F/V Haida Shadow” (“Vessel”) is an approximately 69 foot, former commercial fishing vessel that is currently sitting at Queen Charlotte Small Craft Harbour, Skidigate Inlet, Haida Gwaii, BC The approximate location of the vessel is 53 15.150’ N 132 4.367’ W.The Canadian Coast Guard (“CCG”) Marine Environmental & Hazards Response (“MEHR”) determined that the Vessels are a threat to the marine and terrestrial environments.The Council of Haida Nation (“CHN”) will provide a designated contact who will act as a CHN representative for the duration of the contract. When possible, the contractor should utilize local sub-contractors and First Nations.
