AI Contract Overview
The Buckley Space Force Base Radar, Airfield & Weather Systems unit is seeking market research through a sources-sought notice to identify capable vendors for a specialized test system used in the maintenance and FAA-mandated flight inspections of Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems. The requirement calls for three integrated test sets capable of precisely measuring and adjusting critical RF parameters such as reflected signal strength and cable phasing to ensure compliance with FAA TI 6600.32/33 and Air Force standards, with systems needing to interface seamlessly with existing UHF/VHF radios including CM300/350, TACAN, ILS, and POTS platforms. Each unit must include preloaded procedures accessible without external devices, an ISO 9001-certified calibration certificate, a five-year total hardware warranty with calibration coverage, and a full accessory kit featuring color-coded cables, specialized adaptors, and both hard and soft carrying cases. The equipment must be delivered no later than 30 July 2026 and no more than 60 days after receipt of order. Vendors are required to confirm they are authorized resellers offering the items through a GSA schedule and not via open market channels, and must respond to detailed inquiries regarding delivery timelines to Buckley AFB, Colorado, technical compatibility with current USAF systems, estimated cost ranges, appropriate NAICS code justification, required certifications, warranty offerings including extended support options like loaner equipment and accessory replacement, and FAA certification status. Responses must include company identification, CAGE/DUNS numbers, and point of contact details, while also addressing whether a pre-priced contract vehicle exists for the items and if bulk discounts are available. Although no formal contract clauses, evaluation factors, or pricing structures are defined—since this is a preliminary market research action—the Department of Defense, through the 460th Contracting Squadron, will use vendor responses to assess capability, availability, and market maturity to inform any future solicitations. All submissions must be sent via email to designated points of contact by 1 May 2026, with no mail submissions accepted.

Full Description
This RFI with sources sought is for market research purposes only.
Please view the two attachments they will provide additional information on this requirement.
The Buckley Space Force Base Radar, Airfield & Weather Systems (RAWS) unit requires exacting test sets to perform essential maintenance on Air Traffic Control and Landing Systems (ATCALS). To maintain Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification, these systems must undergo a flight inspection every eighteen months. During these inspections, critical parameters such as reflected radio frequency (RF) and cable phasing must be precisely measured and adjusted. Headquarters Air Force Flight Standards Agency (HQ/AFFSA) has identified the specified test requirements as uniquely suited for the ATCALS mission.
The Government is requesting a response to the following:
- What is the fastest delivery time after award you could provide each of these items? (Please reply citing the delivery time to Buckley Space Force Base, Colorado.)
- Can your company provide the supplies detailed in the attached Statement of Need? If yes, please provide a brief statement explaining your technical capability. Your response must specifically address how your proposed equipment complies with applicable Air Force regulations and ensures full compatibility/integration with our current system of radios. Please also highlight one recent, similar supply delivery you have completed.
- Based on the attached Statement of Need, can your company provide a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) or an estimated cost range to deliver these supplies? (Note: This estimate is strictly for government planning and market research purposes, and does not constitute a formal quote or proposal.)
- Is there a different NAICS code than 334511 that would better fit the item(s)?
- What certifications (if any) are required by the end user to use or install this brand of equipment?
- Do you have a pre-priced contract vehicle with these items on your schedule? If so, please provide the contract/schedule number for validation.
- Do you offer a bulk quantity discount? If so, at what quantity(ites)?
- Is a warranty included? If so, what is the standard commercial warranty? What are your extended warranty options?
- Company name, address, point of contact, telephone number, e-mail address, CAGE/DUNS and pre-priced contract vehicle number if applicable.
- Do you maintain a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification?
- The contractor shall deliver the required test sets no more than 60 days after receipt of order (ARO) and required delivery date is no later than 30 July 2026. Is this a feasible timeframe?
Confirmation that you are an authorized re-seller of the items and provided on your GSA schedule (not open market)
