The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is transitioning all contract opportunities and related announcements from the FAA Contracting Opportunities (FAACO) website to the beta.SAM.gov platform, effective February 1, 2020. This move consolidates FAA procurement information into the System for Award Management (SAM), a unified federal contracting system managed by the General Services Administration's Integrated Award Environment. Active FAACO announcements will be fully migrated to beta.SAM.gov by January 31, 2020, and vendors seeking enhanced access beyond basic public search features will need to create new accounts on beta.SAM.gov, as existing FAACO account credentials will not transfer. This transition aligns with ongoing federal efforts to merge multiple legacy government procurement systems into a single platform, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accessibility for vendors. The FAA previously experienced compatibility issues with beta.SAM.gov's "Opportunities" module but has now resolved them to facilitate this transition. For questions or further assistance, vendors can contact designated FAA representatives Michelle Brune or Monica Rheinhardt. This change marks beta.SAM.gov as the official source for all FAA contract opportunities moving forward.

General Info

FAA contracts moved from FAACO to beta.SAM.gov by February 1, 2020; new accounts required.

BACKGROUND: The Integrated Award Environment (IAE) is a Presidential E-Government initiative managed by the General Services Administration (GSA). Starting November 8, 2019, GSA transitioned from FBO to the - Opportunities module in beta.SAM.gov; however, FAA did not transition at that time. FAA has since resolved compatibility issues with the - Opportunities module in beta.SAM.gov, and FAA will transition to beta.SAM.gov effective February 1, 2020.
