Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County

Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs.
