Fire Alarm System Replacement

The Municipality of Port Hope has issued Invitation to Tender 58-ENV-2026 for the replacement of the fire alarm system at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The scope of work involves replacing the existing Siemens MXL system with a new modular fire alarm control panel, 19 manual pull stations, and various detection and notification devices, including smoke and heat detectors, horns, and strobes. The project also requires the installation of field equipment monitoring modules and control relays, as well as comprehensive technical services including programming, commissioning, verification, testing, and the provision of shop drawings and permits. All work must comply with the 2024 Ontario Building Code, CAN/ULC-S524, and UUKL listing for smoke control. The contract will be awarded to the lowest compliant bidder, provided they meet mandatory technical requirements and a domestic content commitment to supply Ontario or Canadian-made goods and services valued at a minimum of 51 percent of the bid price. Bidders must provide three references from similar projects completed within the last five years and satisfy pre-conditions of award within ten business days of selection, including providing a valid WSIB Clearance Certificate, a Domestic Supply Chain Plan, and commercial general liability insurance of at least 5 million dollars. Bids are due by September 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM local time via the municipality's electronic bidding system. Payment terms are set at net 30 days, and the agreement remains in effect until all deliverables are completed.
