BACKGROUND
NIST is seeking information from sources that may be capable of providing services that meets or exceeds the following draft minimum specifications:
The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Fire Department is tasked with the inspection and maintenance of portable fire extinguishers on the NIST Gaithersburg, MD Campus. Part of the maintenance of fire extinguishers is the hydrostatic test and refilling of the fire extinguisher. This is a required process per National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), Occupation Safety Health Administration (OSHA). The NFPA 10 code and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157.
SPECIFICATIONS
The contractor shall perform the following services. Hydrostatic testing and recharge of 5 LB BC CO2 fire extinguishers. Fire extinguisher testing shall follow all the NFPA 10 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.157 regulations. The contractor will pick up and deliver the completed fire extinguishers back to the NIST Gaithersburg, MD Campus. All fire extinguishers will be returned to the campus.
