1. Background The existing fire protection systems of the main complex of the Centre for Atmospheric Research Experiments (CARE) building need repairs and renewal. These systems are original to the building and are at the end of their life cycle. The systems include fire pond investigations/coordination with the municipality, and building permits.A recent design was completed by Stantec in 2022 on upgrades to fire alarm systems, replacement of emergency lighting, associated fire stopping, integrity of exits and door hardware upgrade to meet exit requirements and replacement. This contract will include additional design as narrated here along with the recent design completed and the Consultant will prepare a complete tender package.2.
