AI Contract Overview
The FY 2027 Health Center Program Service Area Competition provides funding to expand and sustain comprehensive primary and preventive health care services in medically underserved communities across the United States and its territories. This initiative, administered by the Health Resources and Services Administration under the Department of Health and Human Services, aims to improve health outcomes by awarding grants to organizations capable of delivering high-quality care in designated service areas. The available service areas for competition are detailed in the Service Area Announcement Table, and additional areas may be released throughout the year through the Service Area Competition-Additional Area mechanism if existing awardees are unable to continue services in their assigned regions. Funding decisions are made to ensure continuous access to essential health services where need is greatest, and applications are evaluated based on the ability to meet the specific health care demands of targeted populations. The opportunity is open to eligible entities seeking to establish or enhance health center operations in identified areas, with no set-aside type specified and no NAICS code assigned.
