Flat Panel Detector

The FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health, through the Office of Acquisition and Grant Services, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) numbered CDRH-2026-133668 to identify vendors capable of supplying a large-area 2D X-ray flat panel detector for use in laboratory CBCT and fluoroscopy systems. This RFI is purely for market research and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation, request for proposal, or any obligation to award a contract. Vendors are requested to provide detailed technical specifications confirming compliance with mandatory performance criteria including an active imaging area of at least 42.7 cm × 42.7 cm, modulation transfer function ≥50% at 1 lp/mm, detective quantum efficiency ≥70% at 0 lp/mm, fluoroscopy frame rate ≥25 fps, pixel pitch ≤170 μm, lag ≤3% after one frame, energy range of 40–150 kVp, fill factor ≥60%, air cooling only, operating temperature range of 19–49°C, relative humidity tolerance of 10–90% non-condensing, radiation tolerance of ≥2,000 Gy, weight ≤15 kg, a minimum one-year warranty, and one year of remote technical support. Responses must be submitted via email to Freshta.Javid@fda.hhs.gov by 5:00 PM Eastern Time on May 22, 2026, and are limited to five pages or fewer. The response must include the company name, address, CAGE code, Unique Entity ID, business size classification, estimated pricing, delivery lead time, and any exceptions to the specified requirements. No contract clauses, evaluation factors, award criteria, packaging specifications, or formal delivery terms are included, as this is not a procurement action. The place of performance for any future delivery would be Silver Spring, Maryland, and all information provided will be used solely to assess market capabilities and inform potential future solicitations.
