Sources Sought: Navigational Hardware and Software Summary: The Missouri National Guard requires devices and software that provides real time flight enhancement data. The requirement is needed to reduce cockpit disorientation and reduce risk for pilots when flying. Currently, Apple iPad, and iPad minis, are the only known items to receive certificates of Airworthiness Release (AWR) from US Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command. U.S. Army Operation Support Airlift Agency has published operational guidance on the use of ForeFlight to assist in standardization. Request: This request is to identify other hardware and software combinations that provide flight navigation assistance to other Army Agencies and have received official AWR and operational guidance for field operators. Authority: FAR 6.302-1(c). This is a sources sought in an effort to identify additional sources capable of meeting this requirement. Procedures outlined in DFARS PGI 206.302-1 are applicable to this acquisition. Suspense: Please submit list of brands/models that possess AWR from US Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command and operational guidance from U.S. Army Operation Support Airlift Agency no later than 17:00 on 8 April 2016 to Justin.p.wise2.mil@mail.mil. Questions: Please email all questions to Justin.p.wise2.mil@mail.mil and place Navigational Hardware and Software in the subject line.
