Flock Safety Automated License Plate Reading (ALPR) Camera Installation Project

Yolo County is preparing to install a Flock Safety automated license plate reading camera on an existing traffic signal or streetlight pole within public right-of-way, without any ground disturbance, trenching, new pole installation, or facility expansion. The system will be powered by a solar panel and is intended solely to support law enforcement efforts in identifying vehicles linked to criminal activity, thereby enhancing public safety across the county. The project benefits both law enforcement agencies and the general public by providing a non-intrusive, technology-driven tool to aid in crime prevention and investigation.
