The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order for Fluid Mechanics (FM) Specials Template to TSI Incorporated. This will an upgrade package to an existing Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) System from the same vendor, that includes all of the required specifications as mentioned below: FM Special - Laser Diode-pumped solid state continuous wave laser: 10W power, 532 nm wavelength, 5% power stability rating, 2.0 mm beam diameter, M2 < 1.5, div <0.7 mrad full. Air cooled. Includes power supply and 30 degree laser line generator (light sheet optic). FM Special - Camera C320 high-speed camera: 1480 frames per second at 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution and 8GB memory capacity. Includes camera lens, power supply, cables, and software. Ethernet interface. Usage Example: For a 2-m wide field of view, each pixel corresponds to ~1mm at full resolution. PIV processing to 64x64 pixel windows with 50% overlap, gives one vector every ~33 mm. OR, A POTENTIAL ALTERNATIVE CAMERA (IDENTICAL PRICING) IS - Powerview 12MP-330 camera: 330 frames per second at 4096 x 3072 pixel resolution. Includes F-mount camera lens, power supply, frame grabber, and cables. Coax Express interface. Usage Example: For a 2-m wide field of view, each pixel corresponds to ~0.5mm at full resolution. PIV processing to 64x64 pixel windows with 50% overlap, gives one vector every ~16 mm. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1) - only one source is reasonably available. This will an upgrade package to an existing Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV) System from the same vendor. Please see sole source justification attached to this posting. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within three (3) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
