AI Contract Overview
The United States Coast Guard’s Surface Forces Logistics Center is seeking to award a sole source contract to Fairbanks Morse Defense for the continued storage and maintenance of FME ALCO 18-251F series diesel engines at its Houston repair facility. This contract serves as a follow-on to the existing requirements-type agreement supporting the 270’ SLEP cutters and includes a base year with four optional extension years. The contractor must maintain a minimum of four complete ALCO 18-251F engines stored indoors in a secure facility, preserved annually to ensure they remain in like-new “A” condition using only OEM-certified parts from Fairbanks Morse, LLC. These engines must be fully operational and immediately available for both scheduled and unscheduled depot and unit-level maintenance on Coast Guard Medium Endurance Cutters. The contract ensures readiness by guaranteeing the availability of properly maintained engines to support fleet operational needs without interruption. All storage and maintenance activities must align with OEM specifications and standards to preserve engine integrity and performance. The U.S. Coast Guard has identified Fairbanks Morse Defense as the sole qualified provider due to its exclusive expertise and certification as the original equipment manufacturer. The place of performance is firmly established in Houston, Texas, and the contract is governed under NAICS code 333618. Point of contact for inquiries includes Mark Lovingood and Monica Paul, with Mia Mayers designated as the Small Business Specialist responsible for coordination.
