AI Contract Overview
NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support Philadelphia plans to issue a sole source solicitation to The Boeing Company for the repair of a specific electronic component identified by NSN 5998 013243937 and part number 3711740-5. This procurement involves acquiring the part directly from the original manufacturer due to the unavailability of adequate data to support competitive acquisition, as well as the inability to draft sufficient specifications for a competitive process. The acquisition will follow the procedures outlined in FAR Part 13, excluding FAR Part 12, as market research determined that the item does not qualify as a commercial item. The solicitation will be conducted electronically through NECO, with no phone requests or mailed hard copies, and responses are due by mid-June 2026, with an anticipated award date in August 2026. This is not a small business set-aside, and the sole source repair approval limits the award to The Boeing Company, the only approved source for this item. Firms not currently approved to manufacture this material may submit a Source Approval Request; however, the procurement schedule will not be delayed awaiting this approval. Interested parties capable of performing the repair can express their capabilities and qualifications by contacting the designated contracting officer via email. The contract falls under NAICS code 334412 and covers electronic components consistent with the Federal Supply Class 750.
