Hillsborough County intends to recommend the award of a sole source procurement to Tampa Truck Center, LLC. dba Southport Truck Group for the ongoing and as-needed purchases of maintenance, repairs, and supply of Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts services specifically for Freightliner branded trucks and select fire apparatus for the Fleet Management Department for one (1) year at an estimated cost of $360,979.00. Tampa Truck Center, LLC is an authorized service provider that is factory trained and has Daimler Truck North America (DTNA)-certified technicians. Additionally, Tampa Truck Center, LLC has direct access to OEM diagnostic software and proprietary tools, can provide OEM certified parts covered by manufacturer’s warranty, and has a local facility capable of supporting heavy-duty truck repair and fleet turnaround, which ensures essential public services remain uninterrupted, reduces downtime, and extends asset longevity. This procurement is being made in accordance with Section 3-205(e) of the County’s Procurement Policy as Tampa Truck Center, LLC, is the only authorized service provider for Freightliner vehicles in the County’s area offering direct services and OEM parts. The County reserves the right to extend the time period further, adjust the scope of services in response to changing conditions and updated requirements, and increase the resulting award accordingly.
This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals/bids.
Contractors who are able and interested in providing all the identified OEM parts, goods and/or services must submit clear and convincing information to support a challenge to the intended award. Challenges to this procurement must be received no later than the specified Close Date of this Sole Source notice and must be submitted using the “submission” section in EUNA Procurement for this particular procurement. Absent any challenges, an award will likely be made after the Close Date.
The County will review properly submitted challenges (responses) to determine whether bona fide competition exists. Any such responses received by the deadline will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct this procurement as a competitive solicitation.
