Full Description
Fort Detrick owns and operates the Waste Water Treatment Plant (WWTP) for treatment of sanitary wastes generated at the installation. The WWTP accumulates sewage sludge as part of the sanitary treatment activities. Sewage sludge is currently collected and transported to the Fort Detrick municipal landfill for disposal. Upgraded treatment processes at the new Enhanced Nutrient Removal (ENR) WWTP results in increased sewage sludge volume accumulation and disposal. The objective of this requirement is to provide storage, transportation and composting of sewage sludge accumulated as part of sanitary waste treatment processes at the Fort Detrick WWTP.
