This is a notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source, fixed price contract with Whatman, Inc., 200 Park Avenue, Suite 200, Florham Park, NJ 07932 for brand name only commercial items in accordance with FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The FBI has a requirement for the following Whatman supplies: 0001: Custom FBI FTA Card (PN: WB12-9163)(Package of 100), Qty: 10 pkg 0002: Small Multi-Barrier Pouch (PN: WB10-0036)(Package of 100), Qty: 5,000 pkg 0003: FTA Reagent* (PN: WB12-0204)(500 ml bottle), Qty: 200 each *ALL FTA REAGENT (500ml bottle) SHALL COME FROM THE SAME LOT AND SHALL HAVE AN EXPIRATION DATE OF AT LEAST 1-YEAR FROM THE SHIP DATE. Extensive research conducted with knowledgeable individuals in Government and the related industry has determined Whatman, Inc. the only responsible source capable of meeting the FBI's requirement. Whatman, Inc. holds the patent on the FTA technology and is therefore the sole provider of the required supplies. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, interested parties may identify their interests and capability to respond to this requirement or submit quotes to this office by 4:00PM EST, Wednesday, March 18, 2009 to Mr. David V. Smith via fax @ 703-632-8480 or by email to David.V.Smith@ic.fbi.gov. All correspondence shall reference RFQ 09-Q-133027. Phone calls will NOT be accepted. Information received will be used solely to determine whether to conduct a competitive procurement. This contract will be awarded as a commercial item in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation, Parts 12 and 13.5.
