Monroe and Lenawee Counties Families with substantiated claims of neglect or abuse, face challenges or experience crises that may be addressed with supportive services. With services in place, concerns related to neglect or abuse can often be resolved and children can remain safely in their homes or returned to their homes safely. Families Together Building Solutions (FTBS) is designed to assist these families through strengths-based, solution-focused intervention techniques and support services that are tailored to each individual family's needs and goals. Families Together Building Solutions seeks to reduce future maltreatment and prevent unnecessary placement in foster care.
Michigan's Children's Service Administration believes that children should live with their families whenever possible, and FTBS will support the department's goal to reduce the number of children who experience out-of-home care and the associated trauma of being removed from their family. FTBS seeks to support the safety and wellbeing of these families such that risk to the child(ren) is reduced.
