Full Description

It is the intent of the County of Calaveras (“County”) to receive proposals from qualified Contractors for the Lily Gap Vegetative Maintenance, Unit 1. Lily Gap Unit 1 is a 156 acre shaded fuel break that was constructed in 2013 by mastication on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land in northeast Calaveras County on the South Rim of the North Fork Mokelumne River. This is a vegetative maintenance project that will masticate underbrush and ladder fuels that have regenerated during the past 13 years compromising fuel break functionality, community protection, and forest health. The primary goal of the project is to restore the functionality of the Lily Gap fuel break by felling dead hazard trees, thinning/pruning overstocked saplings, and masticating hazardous fire fuels, brush, ladder fuels, slash and logs. Proposals will be reviewed to ensure that all tasks in this RFP are met, in addition to evaluating the ability of the Contractor to provide the required services. Failure to meet the requirements may be cause for rejection. Evaluation of proposals shall be at the discretion of the County. All proposals that meet minimum requirements, insurance and licensing, will be submitted to an Evaluation Committee and ranked according to the scoring criteria described in Section VII below. All documents submitted in response to this RFP must provide sufficient detail and information to allow a complete evaluation of their merit. The instructions contained herein should be followed for proposals to be considered responsive to this RFP. The County reserves the right to cancel this solicitation at any time.
