The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified contractors capable of providing drop-in childcare services at the American Lake Medical Center in Tacoma, Washington, under the authority of Section 5107(a) of the Johnny Isakson and David P. Roe, M.D. Veterans Health Care and Benefits Improvement Act of 2020. This initiative supports veterans receiving mental health or intensive medical appointments by offering flexible, on-demand childcare aligned with their unpredictable appointment schedules. The requirement is classified under NAICS code 624410, and the procurement is managed by the Network Contracting Office 20 (36C260) based in Vancouver, Washington, with Andrew O’Neal serving as the Contract Specialist. This presolicitation notice, posted on June 29, 2026, with responses due by July 8, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. Pacific Time, is strictly for information gathering and planning purposes and does not represent a solicitation, request for proposal, or commitment to award a contract. Interested parties are invited to respond via email only and must provide their company name, contact details, DUNS number, business size classification—including potential socioeconomic designations such as Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), HUBZone, SDVOSB, VOSB, EDWOSB, WOSB, or Large Business status—and indicate whether they hold a Federal Supply Schedule contract under Group 66 III, Category 605-2A. A capability statement, not to exceed three pages, must be submitted to demonstrate the entity’s resources, personnel, and prior experience delivering comparable childcare services. There are no submission fees, no reimbursement for costs incurred, and no obligation for the government to proceed with an acquisition. Responses will inform the development of a potential future RFQ and do not guarantee participation in any subsequent solicitation. The place of performance is clearly defined as the American Lake Medical Center in Tacoma, WA 98493, with no packaging, labeling, or delivery requirements applicable since the work is service-based. No contract clauses, evaluation factors, pricing details, or period of performance have been established at this stage, and no Contracting Officer’s Representative or technical representative has been designated.
