AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Embassy in Quito, Ecuador, under the Department of State’s Bureau of Western Hemisphere Affairs, is seeking qualified contractors to provide gardening services for its embassy compounds and official residences. Although the solicitation number listed in the pre-solicitation contains an error—stating 19EC7525R0002 instead of the correct 19EC7526R0002—the requirement is for a base year of performance with up to four additional one-year option periods, contingent upon government approval. The contract will be awarded through SAM.gov to the responsible offeror submitting the lowest-priced, acceptable proposal, with no mandatory discussions unless the government determines it necessary to clarify offerings. A site visit is planned, and its date will be confirmed in the official Request for Proposal. Importantly, all offerors must be actively registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at the time of proposal submission; failure to do so will render the proposal non-responsive. While the pre-solicitation was posted on April 24, 2026, with a proposed response deadline of May 26, 2026, the official solicitation has not yet been issued, and the listed deadline is tentative. Interested parties should monitor SAM.gov for the official RFP and ensure their SAM registration is complete and active.
