Leverich Helio Stewardship IRSC
Solicitation # 12363N26Q4248
The USDA Forest Service is conducting market research via a Sources Sought and Request for Information for the Leverich Helio Stewardship IRSC project, located in the Custer Gallatin National Forest within the Bozeman Ranger District, Montana. This small business set-aside project aims to reduce wildland fire risk and protect the Bozeman municipal water supply through fuels reduction on steep and rugged terrain. The anticipated scope of work includes the whole-tree helicopter yarding and removal of approximately 290 CCF of Lodgepole pine and 2,045 CCF of Douglas-fir and other sawtimber across 151 acres, the piling of slash at landing areas, and the decommissioning of 0.59 miles of Temporary Road Use Permit roads. The anticipated period of performance is estimated to begin in late spring or early summer 2027 and will not exceed two operational seasons. Performance requirements include strict adherence to road maintenance T-specifications, erosion control, and product identification via hammer branding for logs meeting specific size criteria. The government will evaluate capabilities based on relevant experience in hazardous fuel reduction and steep slope timber operations. Interested vendors were invited to a site visit on October 1, 2026, with capability statements due by October 15, 2026. Acceptance of work will be based on a 100 percent minimum acceptable quality level for both timber removal and road decommissioning, verified through visual inspections by the Contracting Officer's Representative.
