The contract for the Gold Beach Ranger Station Water System Improvements project located in Gold Beach, Oregon, has been canceled due to a lack of funding, with a possibility of reissuance in the next fiscal year if funds become available. The project was intended to upgrade the existing water system at the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest facility by demolishing outdated features, replacing distribution lines, and installing all necessary water system components to ensure a leak-free, functional drinking water system compliant with Oregon's current codes and building standards. This undertaking was valued between $100,000 and $250,000 and specifically set aside for small business concerns under the NAICS code 237110, with a contract period of 120 calendar days. Bidders were required to submit a bid bond if their bid exceeded $150,000, and after award, payment and performance bonds of 100% were mandatory based on contract value thresholds. Prospective awardees had to be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) to qualify for the contract. Additionally, the procurement emphasized the use of biobased products where reasonably available, compliant with the Federal Biobased Products Preferred Procurement Program. The solicitation issuance faced delays and was initially scheduled for release in early April 2017, with bids due by early May 2017, under the administration of the Department of Agriculture through the Rogue River-Siskiyou National Forest office.
