The City of Redlands Parks Division is seeking bids for a multi-year gopher control contract starting in the 2024-2025 fiscal year, with services scheduled from August 2024 through June 30, 2025. The contract involves maintaining gopher populations at a 90% control level across various city sites, with the flexibility for the city to request adjustments in service quantities. The selected vendor must provide proof of necessary San Bernardino County Agriculture permits related to gopher abatement and maintain close communication with city staff and regulatory agencies to coordinate pest control efforts effectively. The program should employ integrated methods, including burrow fumigation with aluminum phosphide and baiting with rodenticides like strychnine and anticoagulants, while avoiding the use of carbon monoxide devices unless explicitly permitted. Post-application inspections are required to remove any exposed carcasses. Additionally, the city requests an optional additive bid for an imported fire ant control program, which involves monthly inspections and targeted bait treatments to eliminate egg-producing queens, with bi-annual treatments during peak foraging periods in late spring/early summer and late summer/early fall. Between these treatments, regular inspections are necessary to identify and treat active colonies with specified contact insecticides. Bidders must submit comprehensive proposals covering all items, as awards will go to the lowest responsive and responsible bidder. The contract size is estimated between $50,000 and $150,000, and interested vendors can find further details and submit their bids through the designated portal before the response deadline of August 9, 2024.
