THE SUPERVISOR OF SHIPBUILDING CONVERSION AND REPAIR NEWPORT NEWS VIRGINIA, INTENDS TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PURCHASE ORDER/CONTRACT TO RIX INDUSTRIES, 4900 INDUSTRIAL WAY, BENICIA CA. 94510 FOR THE GROOMING OF THREE (3) RIX MARC 350 LP AIR COMPRESSORS ONBOARD THE USS JOHN F. KENNEDY (CV 67) THIS PURCHASE WAS AWARDED UNDER SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES AND OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION AS AUTHORIZED UNDER FAR 6.302-1. THE AWARD DATE IS ANTICIPATED TO BE JULY 29, 2003. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR QUOTATION. NO SOLICITATION DOCUMENT IS AVAILABLE AND TELEPHONE OR FAX OR E-MAIL REQUESTS WILL NOT BE HONORED. NO CONTRACT WILL BE AWARDED ON THE BASIS OF OFFERS RECEIVED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. A DETERMINATION NOT TO COMPETE THIS PURCHASE BASED ON THIS NOTICE IS WITHIN THE DISCRETION OF THE GOVERNMENT.
