AI Contract Overview
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is seeking qualified contractors to provide diagnostic evaluation and repair services for a malfunctioning Intralox Series 1800 Traveling Screen and Debris Conveyor System at Pendills Creek National Fish Hatchery in Brimley, Michigan. This system is essential for maintaining water quality and supporting fish production by filtering debris from intake channels, but it is currently experiencing operational failures such as binding, uneven belt wear, and mechanical degradation. The goal is to identify the root causes of failure, assess the condition of all mechanical and structural components, and develop a roadmap for effective repairs that ensure mission continuity and protect aquatic health. The work is anticipated to occur between July 15 and August 31, 2026, under challenging conditions that may require shutdowns or dewatering of the system. Contractors must demonstrate specific experience with Intralox Series 1800 systems or functionally equivalent conveyor-based debris screening systems used in aquatic environments such as hatcheries, intakes, or water treatment infrastructure. They must also show proven experience performing maintenance under operational constraints in wet or water-adjacent settings. Submission of a capability statement—no longer than five pages—is required by June 10, 2026, and must include company details, UEI number, small business status, relevant project history from the past five years, and qualifications of key personnel, particularly those with industrial mechanical expertise or OEM training. Responses must be submitted as a PDF via email to Dana Arnold at dana_arnold@ios.doi.gov with a specific subject line, and respondents bear all costs associated with preparation and submission. This notice is for market research only and does not constitute a solicitation or commitment to award a contract.
