The National Institute of Health (NIH) intends to award a sole source purchase order for Center of Information Technology (CIT), for Hardware and Software - 3 infiniband director switches renewal. The North American Industry Classification System Code (NAICS) is 541519.
Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) is the only responsible source known to provide the services needed.
It is NIH's intent that the proposed action may be awarded on a sole source basis to Hewlett Packard Enterprise Company (HPE) under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures.

Standard Maintenance and Support Plan

Biowulf is the centralized NIH-wide high-performance computing resource supporting scientific computing across the NIH Intramural Research Program. The InfiniBand network infrastructure provides the high-speed connectivity necessary for Biowulf computing resources to communicate efficiently and support computationally intensive scientific research.
The three Mellanox 648-port InfiniBand director switches covered by this requirement are existing components of the Biowulf high-performance computing network. Continued manufacturer maintenance and technical support are required to maintain the operational availability and reliability of this critical network infrastructure.
The required support includes HPE Tech Care Basic with Defective Media Retention (wDMR), hardware technical support, onsite support, replacement parts, and Basic Service Level support.
