Hayward Energy Savings Performance Project

The Hayward Energy Savings Performance Project, managed by the Alameda County General Services Agency, is an initiative designed to reduce the county's dependence on fossil fuels, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and establish resiliency centers. The scope of work involves comprehensive retrofit installations including HVAC, lighting, electrical systems, windows, roofing, solar, and electric vehicle charging stations across multiple California locations. Specific installations include 140 kW of solar and six level II electric vehicle chargers at the 224 West Winton Building in Hayward, ten level III chargers at Eastmont Mall in Oakland, 130 kW of solar and nine level II chargers at the Environmental Health Headquarters in Alameda, and six level II chargers at Snedigar Cottage in San Leandro. The project is classified under NAICS code 238220 and is overseen by Energy Program Manager Tim Wesig. It has been granted a Notice of Exemption under the California Environmental Quality Act based on classifications for existing facilities, new small equipment construction, and minor land alterations, as the installations produce no air emissions and minimal noise. The project is approved by the Alameda County Board of Supervisors and is being executed by the General Services Agency.
